Russell Brand is awaiting sentencing after a jury at Southwark Crown Court found him guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault on Thursday 5 November.

The Crown Prosecution Service says the offences involved four women and took place between 2004 and 2009. Brand is due to be sentenced at the same court on Monday 9 November. No sentence has yet been imposed.

The jury also found him not guilty of two other counts of rape and one count of attempted indecent assault. Brand had denied all the charges. He was remanded in custody following the verdicts.

What is the latest update?

Police are continuing a separate investigation into rape allegations made by two more women. Those allegations are distinct from the offences for which Brand has been convicted.

The BBC reported on Friday that Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley had confirmed the continuing investigation during an interview on BBC Breakfast. In a statement reported by ABC, the Met said files concerning both women had been submitted to the CPS and that further investigative work was continuing. No charges have been brought in that separate inquiry.

An investigation is not a finding of guilt. The outcome of the separate allegations has not been decided.
